PostgreSQL Group Selects WCG for Its New International Marketing Initiative

Raleigh, NC - October 1, 2002 - The PostgreSQL Group launched today a new marketing website (advocacy.postgresql.org) as part of the international marketing initiative to increase mindshare and marketshare of PostgreSQL database software. The group chose to include Web Commerce Group’s case study on its use of the PostgreSQL database with BASF, the world’s largest chemical company. The study details the three primary reasons PostgreSQL was chosen for the project: lower total cost of ownership, superior technology and better maintenance and support.
