WCG Spearheads a New Open-Source Project to Encourage and Build Up Like-minded Businesspeople

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina - August 12, 2004 - Web Commerce Group announced the availability of the MarketChangers portal application to a group of like-minded businesspeople who plan to use it to inspire one another as they develop their businesses based on Christian principles. WCG developed the application pro-bono as an open source project, using best-of-breed open source software exclusively. WCG has been committed to the exclusive use of open source software it develops for global corporations since its inception in 2000.

For this project the WCG development team collaborated with SourceForge.net, an organization whose mission is to enrich the open source community by providing a centralized place for open source developers to control and manage open source software development. SourceForge has the worlds largest open source software development website, providing free hosting to tens of thousands of projects. The collaboration it encourages among professional software developers and end-users promotes a higher standard of quality, and helps to ensure the long-term viability of both data and applications.

The MarketChangers portal application is available to businesspeople and their supporters to connect with one another, establish confidential support group relationships, and enable individuals to share testimonies, information, inspiration and prayers through secured access.
